The David McKannan MDA Run for Research 5k was held in downtown Huntsville on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 7:00 AM. The race was originally scheduled for 8:00 AM but had to be moved up because of a conflict with the Mayors Ride. This course runs on the old Big Spring Jam 5k course.

The overall winner was Blaise Benns of Huntsville in 17:08. The overall female winner was Emily Trotter of Somerville in 22:15. The masters winner was Conrad Meyer of Huntsville in 19:30.
