ABS Cross Country article

Under the direction of Coach Bill Murrell, Athens Bible School boasts an awesome Cross Country team each year.
Some of you may recognize the name Andy Davidson as having popped up as a frequent award winner in area 5K & 10K results in recent years. Andy, a 2008 ABS graduate, is exemplary of the speedy runners Murrell's program generates.
Anyway, today's News Courier carries a wonderful article about a Students vs. Parents training program that Murrell has instituted this year. Click here for the full story, written by The News Courier's Ashley Hargrove.

P.S. The Limestone run today is at 5:30 at Elkmont Rural Village.

Midnight Run results

The Cullman Midnight Run results from Friday night's race are posted (sort of) at the Cullman Parks & Recreation website.
Division awards can be found here.
Full (sort of) results can be found here.

Overall Winner was E.C. Gibbs of Cullman.
Overall Female was Jennifer Dunn of Decatur.
Overall Masters Male was Barry Ege of Hanceville.
Overall Masters Female was JoAnn Jetton of Decatur.

Note: I'm sorry I don't have ages and times listed. That info isn't indicated in the official division results. In the full results, times are listed but city and, again, age, are not. Because the city is only listed in the division awards listing, that's the only list I've been able to compile of Limestone runners. Sorry.

Limestone award winners are:

John Farmer, Toney, first in age group
Glen King, Athens, second in age group
Bud Bowen, Elkmont, first in age group

I'm sure there are more Limestone folks who ran the race, too. I did peruse the results looking for familiar names and noticed that Barry Pugh of Elkmont and Mark Swanner of Athens, who both ran the Sunset 5K in Sheffield Friday evening, had then made the trek to Cullman to run at Midnight as well. Wow!

Cullman Times Midnight Run article

Still no results posted for the Cullman Midnight Run. Here's a link to the Cullman Times article about the race, though.

Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk 2008

One of our Limestone runners, Marnie Pitman, is planning to participate in the Alzheimher's Association Memory Walk 2008 at Huntsville's Joe Davis stadium on Saturday, Sept. 27.
Click the above link for more info on the Memory Walk or contact Marnie at
mmpitman1995@aol.com.

P.S. Looks like Barry Pugh and Mark Swanner were the only Limestone Runners who made the trip to Sheffield Friday night for the Sunset Run 5K.
Barry, 40, of Elkmont, finished in 22:54 to take an age-group third.
Mark, 40, of Athens, finished in 24:32.

I haven't forgotten the Cullman Midnight Run results. It's usually quite a few days before they get those posted so as soon as they're available, I'll let you know!
